PROUDLY PROVIDING DENTAL CARE for YOUR FAMILY in STONEHOUSE, STROUD, GLOUCESTER

2012 March 17

Having worked at Woodcock Lane Dental Care (formerly known as Woodcock Lane Dental Practice) for well over 20 years it has been an amazing privilege to watch children grow up,  start their own families and bring their children along to see us for their dental care.  It always bring a smile to my face watching a child select a prize (as a reward of our star system for good toothbrushing) and hearing the mum or dad whisper that they can remember choosing prizes when they were little.

Throughout the years, although our knowledge has changed, materials have been improved, techniques have altered and equipment has been upgraded, we have always strived to ensure our patients receive the best customer service we can offer.  When I told someone where I worked their response was, “Oh yes – that’s the dentist that gives prizes to children and provides coffee”.  Our reputation had obviously spread!  We do a lot more than provide coffee and prizes though.  At the heart of our philosophy is the belief that prevention is better than cure.  Our dentists, hygienist and oral health educator work closely with children, parents and grand-parents to ensure happy, healthy smiles.

All care and treatment required for a healthy smile is provided free of charge under the National Health Service (NHS) for children under the age of 18 years.  Where possible this will include tooth-coloured fillings, fissure sealants and orthodontic work (braces) when needed.  Any treatment that is genuinely unavailable under NHS regulations can be carried out privately after a full discussion with the dentist, if desired.

We also cater for mums and dads, grans and grandads and great-grandparents!  We provide preventive general dentistry and minimally-invasive restorative dentistry (including no drilling, stick-on dentistry) as well as meeting the ever increasing demand for cosmetic dentistry.  This includes tooth-coloured and “invisible” braces to straighten and align teeth.  Dental implants, bridges and dentures can be provided to replace missing teeth. Tooth coloured fillings to replace old black fillings and enamel reshaping can also enhance the look of a smile.

Whatever your dental needs or concerns, please come and visit us.  We pride ourselves on providing genuine dental care for the whole family and would be pleased to welcome you to our prevention orientated practice.
