Since opening in 1986, Woodcock Lane Dental Care has been providing patients with perfect smiles, naturally created, using minimally invasive techniques.
Braces to align crocked, twisted, rotated or protruding teeth have been part of our repertoire for over 20 years and we have provided over 1000 people with braces to create a new smile over that time, many using invisible braces.
The original “invisible” brace was the tooth-coloured fixed brace, using silver or more recently, white wires to actively align teeth and this is still the most popular way to accurately produce a great smile. This technique has recently been re-branded as the “6monthsmiles” technique, which has now allowed dentists with less or no experience of the original techniques to correct the more minor orthodontic cases. The “6monthsmiles” method also usually works out to be more costly as outside agencies have to get involved.
Typically the type of cases treated using the “6monthsmiles” technique would be treated quicker using similar invisible bespoke methods.
The other three “invisible” techniques to align teeth are the clear aligner braces, of which the best known are “Clearstep” and “Invisalign” or a generic method of this type, which is usually less expensive and the “inman aligner” removable appliance.
The only truly invisible appliances are the lingual appliances, which are attached to the inside surfaces of the teeth, rather than the outside, thus rendering them “invisible” from the front view. This is an increasingly popular method, as there is no cumbersome appliance in the way and nothing at all can be seen. Treatment times for this technique are usually in the region of 4-5 months; 5monthsmiles!

Whatever the type of brace chosen, a perfect smile is well within reach for everyone, with starting prices as low as £500 for simple cases, the average invisible brace being £1700 and a maximum cost of £3300 for the most complex invisible brace cases (upper and lower teeth treated).
