Over the 22 years we’ve been providing the children and adults of Gloucestershire, especially those living in the Five Valleys area, with new smiles. But there have been quite a few changes!

Originally we used to use plastic and metal removable braces to treat crocked teeth, but these were replaced over the years with the fixed-on metal braces, giving much better control and far better end results.
Unfortunately these were quite obtrusive, so it was great to see the introduction of the small mini bracket systems in the 1990s, making these braces far less conspicuous.
Over the last decade though, we have been using tooth-coloured ceramic brackets and even tooth coloured wires, rendering braces nearly invisible. (The six month smile technique being a recent, if expensive, introduction to the market).
The very latest braces though, are completely invisible, because they are placed onto the inner aspect of the teeth. Nobody would ever see them, except the patient and their orthodontist! This truely revolutionary approach has been pioneered in the Stonehouse, Stroud and Five Valleys area by Dr David Lyons, our orthodontic practitioner.
