{"id":258,"date":"2013-06-23T18:11:55","date_gmt":"2013-06-23T18:11:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.woodcocklanedentalcare.co.uk\/news\/?p=258"},"modified":"2013-06-24T17:49:02","modified_gmt":"2013-06-24T17:49:02","slug":"dentures-on-implants","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.woodcocklanedentalcare.co.uk\/news\/dental-implants\/dentures-on-implants\/","title":{"rendered":"Dentures On Implants"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the earliest uses of dental implants was to secure loose dentures, usually full plastic dentures, making them almost like real teeth.<br \/>\nOver the years there have been some problems with the ball locators traditionally used.<br \/>\nThe two main problems have been that the feel and retention of the dentures is not as firm and natural as is often expected, and that the dentures fracture in areas where the ball housings are located, due to the large size of the housings within the denture.<br \/>\nRecently we have moved away from the ball locators towards the new o-ring locator system.<br \/>\nThe locators come in different strengths to suit every person&#8217;s personal preference and needs.<br \/>\nBecause these locators are more squat and precise than the older ball locators, they give better comfort, stability and cause fewer fractures than before.
